The music and liturgy of the Coptic Orthodox church have been preserved through the ages. The Coptic liturgy are sung entirely and have been passes down orally over many centuries. This is the first time its music has been recorded and published in full by Dr. Ragheb Moftah, the Director of the Department of Music and Hymns at the Coptic Institute of Higher Studies in Cairo, and with the help of Miss Martha Roy.

The late Dr. Raghheb Moftah devoted 70 years of his life to the preservation of Coptic music and this is a major and unique achievement. The book includes not only the music, but also the words and the rubric of the liturgy of St. Basil. This is a special edition for St. Mark foundation from the AUC publications.
